Chantel Bingham is a native of Versailles, Kentucky, and the eldest child of Geraldine Brown and the late Charles Brown, Jr. She is married to Vincent Bingham of Nicholasville, KY, and they have three sons: Dwayne (25), Jonah (10), and Jaxson (8).


Chantel graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and earned a Master of Public Administration with a 4.0 GPA from Kentucky State University in 2005. She has served as the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Versailles for the past eight years, making history as the first African-American female in this role.


In January 2023, Chantel was elected to the Versailles City Council. Her extensive public service includes positions such as Assistant Director of People Services/Human Resources at Berea College, Assistant Director of the Kentucky Department of Parks, Employment Recruiter/Staff Assistant to the Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources, and Project Manager with the Kentucky Sports Authority and Adventure Tourism/Kentucky Recreational Trails Authority. She has also been actively involved with senior citizens and served on various school councils and local commissions.


Chantel is a member of the Justice Ministry at Consolidated Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, and the COO, Producer, and Writer for His Will, My Hands Production Company. She also coaches cheerleading and volleyball at Falling Spring Recreation Center.


As foster parents, Chantel and her husband have fostered nine children since 2014. In her spare time, Chantel enjoys reading, supporting the Kentucky Wildcats, advocating for health and wellness, and participating in community activities.
